The system uses CO2 pellets made from food grade carbon dioxide, 3mm in diameter. The pellets are propelled at the surface to be cleaned at very high speed by a compressed air gun.

Operating temperatures are at -79c. This creates a thermal shock on impact, breaking the bond in the contaminated area. At the same time the high-pressure air stream removes the contamination from the surface. Finally the pellets vaporise, leaving a good as new finish to the area that has been treated.
